During this event, these three local authors will be discussing their books and will be available to answer questions. For a description of the authors, please scroll below. You can purchase one of their books through our online store, at the bottom of this page or through the "Online Store" tab at the top, or by stopping in-store during our business hours. If you would prefer to call in to order one of their novels, please have your credit card ready and we will be happy to accommodate.
Dennis Royer, author of the Perry County Mystery Series, has enjoyed a lengthy career in information technology as a programmer and network administrator. He began writing novels in 2000 as an artistic release from the unforgiving logic of bits and bytes. During the past twenty years he has written novels in a wide variety of genres ranging from mysteries to young adult to post-apocalyptic. When not writing, Dennis coaches and encourages new writers as a way of giving back to all those who helped him learn the craft. He is a member of Pennwriters, Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group, and Perry County Council of the Arts. The latest in his New Perry County Mysteries, Geezer and the Widow, will be coming out this spring.
He has also written a young adult series The Story of Sing and his popular post-apocalyptic novel, Earthburst.
Bill Peschel is the author of Writers Gone Wild and founded Peschel Press with his wife, Teresa Peschel in 2010 located in Hershey, Pa. In 2019, the Press finished the Sherlock Holmes 223B Casebook series and continues the Complete, Annotated Series of Agatha Christie’s works along with starting their new Career Indie Author Series in which this husband and wife team discuss the ins and outs behind a new writing career. Bill Peschel also hosts the podcast Mechanicsburg Mystery Presents… in which he interviews other mystery authors on their latest books. His latest book will be discussed in this event.

Sheryl Ickes, author of the Slice of Life Mystery Series, resides in south-central Pennsylvania with her husband, daughter and two dogs. She draws from her 20 years of experience in cake decorating to bring realism to her stories. From working in a pet store as a teen, to driving tractor-trailer as an adult, along with a few other jobs, this author has a wide library of memories to keep adding intrigue throughout her books. Her second book, Murder in the Woods, is an award winning novel and her third book, A Murderous Christmas, was a finalist. Her current novel, Death of a Dispatcher, in the first novel in her new cross-country truck driving series and will be coming out this spring.
